Language Leaders University Trip

The languages department at Addey and Stanhope has teamed up with SOAS university and Lucas Vale Primary school in order to help train fifteen Year 9 students into Language Leaders. During the course of the year these 15 students will teach lessons to year 4 and year 5 students at Lucas Vale Primary school.

Over 40 students applied so competition was tough.

On Tuesday 22nd October, our new language leaders attended their first training day at London University, School of Oriental and African Studies. They were given a tour of the university, were given taster lessons in Japanese, Arabic and Korean before starting to plan their lessons for Lucas Vale Primary School.

Students all agreed it was a "very special day" and the high point was the visit of the library which contains 1.5 million books!
