Year 10 Drama Project – ‘The Bully Plays’ by Nell Dunn

The Year 10 GCSE drama group were privileged to work with the playwright Nell Dunn on a series of short anti-bullying plays. All of the students worked really hard to stage the plays and enjoyed a visit from Nell Dunn who gave them some really useful feedback. The plays were then performed to Year 6 students from Grinling Gibbons and St. Joseph’s primary schools. The performance had a workshop element led by an Addeys 6th Form student, Sharla Kayembe, who did an excellent job. The Year 6 students contributed some great ideas and really enjoyed taking part in the workshop element, during which they were able to ‘hot-seat’ the Year 10s in role amongst other activities.

‘Thank you Year 10 students for allowing us to see your incredible production. It has helped us Yr. 6 students to tell a member of staff if ever bullied or to confront the bully. It has really helped those who are bullied to understand that it isn’t the end of the world, it just takes four words (I am being bullied) and then it’s all over. Thank you very much, we really enjoyed it.’ Year 6 students St.Joseph’s Primary School
