Addey Girls at Malorie Blackman Talk

On the afternoon of Founders’ Day, Mrs Bentley took three Addey girls, Molly, Chiyana and Nicole  to hear a session with established author Malorie Blackman, the current Children’s Laureate, and a new author James Dawson. There were students from schools all round the London area, so we were very lucky to be invited.

The conversation between the two authors was fascinating, as James had been inspired to start writing by reading Malorie’s book Noughts and Crosses.

The students had a chance to answer questions afterwards, and then queued to get their books signed. It was great to be able to get a photo of the girls with the authors.

Mollie bought one of James Dawson’s books, Hollow Pike, and came in next day to say how much she was enjoying it! Obviously an author to add to our list of ones to watch.
