Event Planning Professional Visits Addey and Stanhope

Ella Bruniges, a corporate event planner at the UK Cards Association visited Addey and Stanhope School on Friday 16th October 2015.

Ella kindly agreed to speak with Year 13 BTEC Business students about the business events they are arranging to celebrate the 300th Anniversary of Stanhope School.

Our students, who are completing Unit 18, Managing a Business Event, listened intently to Ella’s words of wisdom about the intricacies of event planning. Ella provided students with comprehensive resources including an event presentation, budgeting resources and surveys for event evaluation.

The events that students are planning on the 26th and 27th November 2015 include an event to develop students life and career skills. This event includes a series of sixth form seminars on CV/career advice, managing university fees and a session on dealing with puberty for a group of year 9 students. The second event has been labelled the ‘SEA (sports and the expressive arts) Conference’ and aims to inspire female students into careers in sports and the arts.

Students have invited in professional speakers for both events and are arranging the venue, catering and health and safety requirements…on their own!

On behalf of Year 13 BTEC Business students and the Business Studies Department at Addey and Stanhope, we would like to thank Ella very much for coming in and speaking to the students.
