School Holds International Evening

On Thursday 29th March, Addey and Stanhope School had their first ever International Evening. It was  a fantastic event which was well attended by students, staff and parents. At Addey and Stanhope School we have students from over 30 countries speaking as many languages. This provides our community with a rich breadth of skills, talents and points of view; as such, the aim of the Internation Evening was to celebrate our rich cultural diversity with food from all of our home countries, live music and geographical games – and a chocolate tasting competition!

Parents and students very kindly brought in examples of food from around the world, which were  served from stalls designed and put together by the Ms. Woolgar and the Design Technology Department. The menu was a big hit with everyone. Despite the phenomenal popularity of the chocolate competition, the undoubted highlight of the show was the band, comprised of Mr Owen on guitar, Mr Teager on bass and Glorie (9A) on drums, who performed a good mix of live hits from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

The evening represented a  huge team effort from every corner of our school community which really encapsulated our ethos. We are looking forward to next year’s event already!
