Mayor of Lewisham Visits Addey and Stanhope School

The school had the pleasure of entertaining Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham when he joined us for a Jubilee lunch on Thursday 31st May. He was able to enjoy some home-cooked food prepared by the children of the Lexis Centre, including pastries, breads and, of course, a traditional cup of tea.

The Mayor learned about how the Lexis Centre supports children with speech, language and communication needs, witnessing first-hand the alternative curriculum available for children in our unit. He also took time to view examples of our children’s written and project work.

Sir Steve Bullock said, “It was wonderful to see the effort made by the children of the Lexis Centre to celebrate our Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. I very much enjoyed being part of it and look forward to visiting Addey and Stanhope School again in the near future.”

The visit ended fittingly with our guest joining students, parents and staff to sing the National Anthem.
