Lloyd Ludwig Prize for International Affairs

On Tuesday afternoon, Addeys students gathered after school to hear the results of the annual essay competition. This year, pupils were invited to write on the title ‘Britain is Broken’. The judges, including Headteacher Ann Potter and Chair of Governors, Cliff Hardcastle OBE, were very impressed with the results. Third place went to Odavwaro (8E), second was won by Michelle (9A) and Curtis (7A) won first prize. Each winning student received a certificate, a trophy and Amazon vouchers so that they can further their reading.

During the celebration event, parents, carers and students also watched the semi-finals of the student debating competition. Milos (9S) and Igor (9P) were narrowly beaten by Abdullahi (9A) and Sean (9S), while in the second debate, Curtis (7A) and Dylan (7S) beat Taina (9E) and Jerrell (9S). The final will be held in a school assembly shortly; look out here for news of the final result!

Mr Mason and Miss Walker, the event organisers, would like to thank all the judges, the carers, the teachers and students who supported the event.
