Lewisham Book Quiz

Three teams from Addeys took part for the first time in the Lewisham Book Quiz, which took place at Forest Hill School with teams from 5 other Lewisham schools: Bonus Pastor, Forest Hill, St Mathew Academy, Sedgehill and Sydenham.  Students worked in teams of 3-4, answering questions on a whole range of children’s books, as well as Shakespeare, the classics and mythology. The winners were Sydenham, with Forest Hill and Sedgehill in 2nd and 3rd  places. All our students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to test their knowledge against their peers in other schools. With the help of the newly opened LRC, we hope Addeys will be giving the other schools a real run for their money next year.

The students were: Aris, Curtis, Vincent, Brian, Mary, Jesse, Ruby (Year 7), Annie, Katie and Jamar (Year 8).
All the students will be presented with certificates for their participation.

The Year 7 students had already taken part this year in the Lewisham Book Award, where they were asked to read as many as possible from a shortlist of 8 books, and now along with the Year 8 students they are working their way through the books shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal. They are also writing reviews, which can be read on the official website here: www.carnegiegreenaway.org.uk
