Welcome to Addey and Stanhope, which has been a key part of Deptford’s unique, vibrant community for over 300 years. We are committed to giving your children an exceptional education in a caring, welcoming environment.
The Governors of Addey and Stanhope are a group of people who are all committed to supporting the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school and work together to try and provide the young people of Deptford with the best possible opportunities to kick start their futures.
Between us we have a huge range of skills: many of us are parents and grandparents ourselves; some of us are skilled in financial matters and can support the ‘business’ of running a school; some of us are or have been educators; some of us are leaders in our day jobs; several of us have experience in governance in other spheres.
We are able to use these skills to support the Leadership Team in their task of educating our incredible pupils and ensuring that they are well informed, ‘well rounded’ individuals.
Following the tragic death of our Chair of Governors, Mark, in July we are looking to launch the 'Mark Phillips Futures Room' in the spring term at Addey & Stanhope.
The revamp of this space will make an enormous difference to our students and school community. We hope it will be a fitting tribute to an incredible human who dedicated his life to securing the best possible futures for young people. You can read about the plans in more detail here.
