As part of our commitment to working in partnership with families, we are sharing our new Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Parent and Carer Information and Curriculum Overview document. This guide provides an overview of the content taught through our RSE programme and explains how topics are delivered in an age-appropriate, supportive and inclusive way as part of our wider Personal Development curriculum. The document outlines the knowledge and skills students will develop across areas such as healthy relationships, respect and equality, consent, online safety, physical and emotional wellbeing, puberty, sexual health, safeguarding and preparing for adult life. It also explains how RSE is taught at Addey and Stanhope School and how we ensure lessons are carefully planned and delivered.
We encourage all parents and carers to take some time to read the document and discuss its contents with their child if they wish. You may also wish to:
Familiarise yourself with the curriculum content that will be taught.
Request to view curriculum materials or teaching resources used within lessons.
Arrange a meeting with the Personal Development Lead if you would like to discuss the curriculum in more detail or would like further information.
Share any feedback that may help inform the ongoing development of our RSE provision.
